I have always believed that every human being deserves dignity, respect, and the basic necessities of life — and at the core of these is a safe, secure home. The reason I founded মানবতার বাসস্থান– Habitat for Mankind, Bangladesh comes from witnessing, time and again, how people without a permanent address are treated as though they are invisible, their worth and potential overlooked by society.
A house is much more than a physical structure. It represents stability, identity, and the chance to build a better life. It’s where families find rest, children grow in safety, and dreams take root. Without a place to call home, a person struggles with confidence, and without confidence, one cannot contribute to the society or the nation in a meaningful way.
It pained me deeply to see countless families living on the streets or in unsafe, temporary shelters — exposed to danger, poverty, and hopelessness. That is why I made it my life’s mission to give these families what they deserve: a proper home.
মানবতার বাসস্থান– Habitat for Mankind, Bangladesh was founded in 2024, driven by this vision, and it is a project incredibly close to my heart. As a Bangladeshi, having worked in various sectors in the United States for a long time, I have had the privilege of seeing how opportunity, dignity, and quality of life are intertwined there – and I want to bring a similar sense of security and possibility to the people of my homeland.
I was inspired by former American President Jimmy Carter who founded the nonprofit organization named “Habitat for Humanity” that helps poor and lower middle class families build and improve places call home.Manobotar Bashostan or Habitat for Mankind in Bangladesh is a small step with an opportunity to expand in the future that may help significant number of poor or less fortunate people in Bangladesh to own a place call home, one of basic needs of Mankind.
Our initial target is to build 1,000 homes for 1,000 families in the next three to five years— creating not just structures of brick and mortar, but homes filled with hope, safety, and opportunity. Each house will be built with care, equipped with essential facilities like sanitation, and designed to support the needs of small families.
But this project is not just about homes — it’s about restoring self-worth, nurturing communities, and building a stronger, more compassionate nation. It’s about giving families a reason to dream again and children a safe place to grow, learn, and thrive.
I firmly believe that no change is too small when it comes to transforming lives. Together, through compassion, collaboration, and action, we can create a movement that uplifts the most vulnerable and builds a brighter, more inclusive future for Bangladesh.
I sincerely invite you- friends, well-wishers, and partners to join hands with us in this noble mission. Your support can help turn this vision into reality, one home at a time.
Together, let’s build hope, dignity, and futures.
